Gifted and Talented students are one of the most varied group of young people in our school system.  They come from all walks of life, every ethnic and socioeconomic group and they have an unlimited range of personal characteristics in temperament, risk taking and conservatism, introversion and extroversion, reticence and assertiveness, and degree of effort invested in reaching goals.  Some of our students are moderately advanced who sometimes are overlooked in a regular classroom setting while others have talents so far from the usual range that they have an obvious need for dramatic educational adjustments.

Who Are "Gifted" Students?

Children with outstanding talent who perform or show the potential to perform at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared with others of their age, experience, or environment.  They exhibit high performance capabilities in 

• intellectual, creative, and/or artistic areas

• possess an unusual leadership capacity or excel in specific academic fields

 

*These students REQUIRE services not ordinarily provided in the regular classroom.
